Internship offers way to make a million
By Tori Bowman

Seniors who are looking at careers in the finance arena, now have the opportunity in Las Vegas to start day-trading without having to use their own money.

Bright Trading, whose headquarters are in Las Vegas, began in 1992. The company now has 35 offices located throughout the country. Its goal is to allow young people, who he believes truly are the future trading experts, the opportunity to learn necessary skills for trading.

Last semester, flyers were posted at UNLV advertising an internship program with the company. One senior is currently enrolled in the program. Ideally, Bright would like to accept up to five students per semester for their credit-earning program.

While students are not paid for the work they do, they are given the opportunity to interact with Bright employees who work daily with the New York Stock Exchange through Direct Line Trading. The interns are also given special advice and coaching for the Series Seven Test, a nation wide exam all financial traders must take.

"No one individual or corporate entity can control the market, nor know in advance how any investments will go on a given day. Bright Traders are taught a method by which they can find and use a very slight edge in their investigating strategies. If a trader is smart enough and willing enough, they can earn a minimum of a low six figures a year, every year," Robert Bright, founder of the company, said. The real benefit of the company is "No risk–they will be trading only with our capital."

The program has already been successfully instituted at UCLA and UCSD, and Bright hopes to continue expanding the program in the future.

Whether the idea of a million dollars motivates you, or the prospect of learning valuable information from people who know the industry of day trading; Bright Trading offers an excellent opportunity to "get your foot in the door."

They are still looking for interested interns to begin learning the necessary skills to be successful in the business world. Bright Trading has a radio show aired on 970 AM radio at 12:15 a.m. on Saturdays. They can also be reached by calling 739-1393 or visiting their website: stocktrading.com. For more information about the internship program, contact the UNLV Business department.
